A letter from the US NVC & Why I'm still Ms. Anol

It was exactly three days ago when we received the letter from the United States National Visa Center. We all thought that it was a good news but turned out to be not.

Way back 2008 when Ace's Mom applied an immigrant visa for him and his three minor siblings. With them it hasn't taken that long for the approval to arrive. One of the factors is, they are minors. Ace is the eldest son and before his Mom got her green card, he was already 21 years old.

I'm not very knowledgeable about visas but I do acknowledge that we are not allowed to be married unless he's already there [in the US]. I'm good with that, just as long as Ayvan will be with us when we choose to stay there for good.

Going back, the letter states:

"Unfortunately, visa numbers are not presently available for your use. You will be notified when further consideration can be given to processing your application for immigration. The reason for this delay is that there are more applicants for visas than there are immigrant visa numbers available under the limitation prescribed by law. We have no way of predicting when it will be possible to proceed with your immigrant visa application. We will keep your case on file until further action is possible."

On that note, we have to wait for another couple of years. This is just a little sacrifice for our young family's future so keri lang.

This is also the reason why I am still Ms. Jenny Bave D. Anol, why my son has a different last name and why I don't have a band.*wink*

That's for now nalang muna mga Ning. Next time naman. Ciao!
