I'm a Zinio giveaway winner

I love reading. Most of what I usually have are magazines and books that had caught my attention. I don't have a specific categories in finding a book that would interest me to read from cover to cover, just as long as I find it interesting, gow. I'm a fan of Bob Ong and Mitch Albom. And now reading to me is, somewhat, hard to find a time with.  I even downloaded an Android App like Flipboard which I posted here, just for me to have something to read on my way to work and home.

Anyhow, I was browsing my reading list (blogs I preferred to read), when I red Mommy Sha's post about her Zinio digital magazine giveaway, my heart jumped! and I said to myself I will join and I will win! LOL.

Fortunate enough, I won! At first I was not sure if ako talaga nanalo. I saw my name on Mommy Sha's list of  winners but I waited for a confirmation email and I did not receive any from 3 days of checking, so I gave up.

Yesterday when I was reading Sha's reply to my comment (on one of her post), I was surprised when she asked me if I've already checked her winner's list. I said yes but I'm not sure.

Here's our convo.

Ung level ng excitement mo Mem nakakaloka! Hahaha Me too! Im so egzoited pero unahin ko muna ang excitement for this coming Halloween with my son Ayvan… :) Do you have plans on attending a Trick or Treat somewhere Mommy Sha?

I checked my email again and found it! It was sent on the 26 of September just the day when I did not or was not able to check my emails and I have to search it pa sa dami ng unread emails ko haha. Honestly speaking, this is my first time to win a giveaway from a co-blogger. I've blogged since 2010, but I did not know my focus that time, no direction, so, every time I created one binubura ko din after a month or so. I don't read blogs that much before and I don't even know that there's such a thing like giveaways from a blogger di ba? Oh well, that was before Ayvan came.

I really couldn't find it, kaya ayan search galore. Nakakatawa pa kasi nawalan ng wifi, prolong agony ang peg! LOL

Here's Zinio's email confirmation

and here's my SMART PARENTING MAGAZINE (digital) subscription from Zinio

Imagine, I can read this on my phone, Jeez!  isn't that awesome? I love how technology makes our lives easier.

Thank you so much Mommy Sha! Keep it up and God bless.

TBT: Anawangin Cove via Mount Pundaquit

Disclaimer: This getaway happened last year. As you notice, my TBT are about the mountains I've already conquered. This is my way of sharing my hobby (before I got pregnant).

This was May 2012, we got an invitation from our Mountaineering group called KM 21 for Anawagin getaway. I never had a second thoughts and immediately responded with a big YES and smile on my face.

The night the day we headed to Cavite (meeting place), I was drunk, and  have had not slept yet from a gimik in High Street with my colleagues. So, sleep galore akech sa bus going to Zambales.

We got there around 8AM, we assembled and took our breakfast.

The Group. Some brought their kids along.

Anawangin is accessible by foot or boat, but we opted go by foot via Mt. Pundaquit. It was about 3-4 hours trek, ganyan ako ka-baliw sa hike, kahit puyat gow! We never regret it when we reached the summit. It was as what I've expected to be.

Resting

We descended from the summit quickly since it was raining, we only spent like 30-45 minutes there, took some photos and rest.

Assembling our tent

Nung dumating kami sa beach, medyo pagod na ko kaya busangot na at gutom, buti nalang nakahanda na food namin at ayon PG ang peg ko!

The view from the top

The whole experience was full of fun and adventure, and super sulit!

The damage? Php2500 for two person.

Beach. Hiking. Fun people.

That's my Throwback Thursday, whats yours?

Trivia lang: I'm already 1 month pregnant when this trip occurred and did not know it yet.

Mommy Fleur made my day and ebook on my weekend

It rained non stop yesterday, bed weather again and I was not feeling well. My head aches, felt like I wanted to vomit, plus I got cough and cold so imagine my agony. Chos!

Work is still demanding, I rendered an impromptu OT (bongga! masama na nga pakiramdam OT pa. Push!), buti nalang free ang lunch and I don't need to go out kundi toinks! dead.

Ganito hitsura sa labas

And then, when I saw Mommy Fleur's email biglang nabuhay dugo ko ng very lite! Hahaha. It's her reply to my email last Month. I came across to her blog and I saw the THIS KID IS IT section. I got very excited and thought of sending Ayvan's photo. When I received her confirmation yesterday, she will feature Ayvan this coming Saturday, it really made my day! Sobra. You wanna know why? Kasi it will be his first time to be featured online (aside from this blog of course). I was too hooked with baby photo contest online recently, but every time I attempt to join my laptop would play up, I don't know if it's just it or just my internet connection, I just can't go through.

I will be looking forward to it. Thanks Mommy Fleur in advance!

Anyhoo, last weekend I had nothing to do, I got bored and something crossed my mind when I accidentally clicked the ebook app on my phone. I remember back in High School I was curious about one of the famous Jewish Family after the WW2, I even did a research and spent hours and hours reading them haha. Good thing I can download an ebook of The Diary of a young girl by Anne Frank easily now. Technology nowadays almost makes everything convenientI had no way of buying it before and I can't remember why, really! LOL

my ebooks

and it took my boredom away! thank god.

My Baby's Stuff

I’ve been reading Mommy blogs about what they use for their kids. I thought of sharing what we got for Ayvan too.

Most of his stuff comes from the US. Ace’s grandmother is a US citizen, when she came home last Month, she brought some stuff for Ayvan.

  • Johnson’s tip to toe wash. Is very good for baby’s skin. You can feel that its moisturizing, it’s like Dove soap (hard to rinse), but it’s good, because it will not dry our babies skin. As we all know that frequent bathing removes skin’s natural oil. It’s the same with babies. It protects their skin from potential allergen. And good thing Johnson's tip to toe wash is gentle and moisturizing just enough for them.
  • Cetaphil. It is gentle and it is made for sensitive skin like babies. I’m not using it as his pampaligo, I'm using it for his butt whenever he pooped. He suffered a bad rash before that he got from seating his poop for so long. Nobody notices it, he was busy playing and us too so when I checked it, his butt was already red. According to his Lolo's suggestion, we used cetaphil when washing it and it WORKED. For only two days the redness has gone like magic.  Php480.00
  • Human Nature, wonder oil. I use this when I’m giving him a massage after his evening ritual (wash up) and it really calms him. On their website (Human Nature), they said that it also helps soothe diaper rash, itchiness, irritation and little boo-boos which are really true! I’ve tried to use it when Ayvan had few mosquito bites on his legs and it worked wonders, though it did not erase the black spots which I don’t worry much.  Php129.75
  • Human Nature, Natural baby lotion. It smells good and relaxing. It softens Ayvan’s skin and not greasy which is really good. It makes his skin supple after putting it on.
  • Human Nature, Bug Shield. I won't argue with the effectiveness of this product. It's 100% effective and natural, but what I really don't like is its strong smell, worse is, it won't wash away with just one wash. It smells like a car freshener, other than that nothing but effective. Php94.75.
  • Johnson's baby cooling powder. There's only one name that comes to mind when it comes to baby powder, its Johnsons. It's been in the market like forever! I use this every diaper change. I trust this because I've been using it too. Php39.00
  • Aveeno. We haven't used it yet. It's not really for Ayvan pero pinahingi ko kasi I heard Aveeno products are good for babies. I will certainly make a solo review of this product once Ayvan use it na.

And here's some of what he eats.

  • Bibibons. I already made a review of this product here.
  • Treetop organic apple sauce. They said apple sauce is good for babies, yes indeed because of the nutrients that they can get from it, but according to studies, the sugar content of this product is very high, so I'm only giving it to him when he's too hungry and can't wait for his meal.
  • Gerber.Yes! the very famous Gerber. As much as I wanted to feed him with natural and fresh veggies, there are times that I'm not home and his father is too sleepy to prepare it either, so we're giving it to him if there's really no time just like the apple sauce, as you know, we don't have a yaya yet. I know Gerber has a lot of nutrients too, but still, nothing beats fresh veggies & fruits.
This is how he looks now while I'm blogging. He's playing around with his walker. I sooo love you baby.
That's all for now folks.

It's TBT. Hence, here's Mt. Manalmon's Hike

As what I love doing, HIKING. March 18 2012 we climbed and this time we've choosen Mt. Manalmon in San Miguel, Bulacan because of its historical view. It was just a day hike though.

Did you know...

That Mt. Manalmon and Madlum Cave is part of Biak na Bato. Emilio Aguinaldo hid from Spanish troops in Biak na Bato.

Going up to the mountain was easy, probably because it was just a small one and I don't have a huge bag-pack behind me. I just brought a waist bag so I can move freely.

I fell in-love with this monkey bridge

Madlum River
Not a pre-nap okay, sayang kasi ang view.

Entering the Madlum Cave

That's the beautiful rock formation of Madlum Cave.

Posing

First rappel
We need to use a headlamp and rope to go inside.

Ooops! I did it again.

Over all experience...

It was boring at first but when we entered the Cave it's fantastic. I can't help myself to admire the beauty of nature and our tour guide also provided some showbiz trivia like - the MULAWIN  movie of Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin were filmed there. I enjoyed his company, he's very funny, he even showed us his spider pose haha.

And that where my TBT story ends.

Ayvan & the apple sauce

When I got home last month, I've been hearing about how an apple sauce made Ayvan amazingly cute to their eyes.

When they asked me to watch this video, I fell in-love with my little one for the nth time.

He is so cute and funny! Enjoy watching.

Isn't he charming?! Ciao muna mga mudrakels.

I found this in my old blog. ♥

I was delayed for 3 weeks and I'm panicking already. First thought that I had in mind was probably I'm sick that's why I didn't have my period, second was I need to buy a pregnancy test and find out if I'm pregnant (which I highly doubt that time).

When I first took a Home Pregnancy Test it was very faint, the second red line was kinda not so clear, I decided to go to an OB-GYNE to have another test just to make sure.

When I entered the clinic, the doctor was very favorable. I promptly handed her over the Pregnancy test and told her that it's very faint and that I'm really not sure about it.She then told me that "If you're not pregnant that second red line will not appear since there will be no HCG present in your urine, which can only be made by a pregnant woman".

By that time, the doctor was sure that I am pregnant and she even calculates the gestation week. She said I'm 7 weeks. She asked me to come back for a Trans-vaginal Ultrasound, Urinalysis and Blood Chemistry. She also prescribed some vitamins.

I was very surprised and confuse how it happened when we're very careful. I have set about reviewing things, the dates, the place and how then...  texted Ace to let him know.

The following week I came back to the clinic to have all my laboratory tests done. I was so shocked when the doctor in the laboratory who performed my trans-vaginal showed me my baby.. It was so small and I can see its heart pumping so fast.

I almost cried, I couldn't explain how and what I am going to feel that time. It has 171 BPM. .

The result says:

SINGLE, LIVE INTRAUTERINE PREGNANCY OF ABOUT 8 WEEKS AND 4 DAYS AOG (AGE OF GESTATION)  BASED ON CROWN RUMP LENGTH. NEGATIVE ADNEXAE.

Its a roller coaster emotions. I'm scared, happy, excited, confuse. But one thing is for sure, I'm going to be a MUM soon..♥

Monday hassle

Hello!

How are you? Hope all is well. Monday was not good to me, hopefully today will be okay. It was so bad, I was so exhausted, it feels like I consumed all my energy, tipong wala ng natira. Ay gravity!

I was so excited to go home and vent all my frustrations at work with Hubby and was too sleepy as well that on my way home, I slept in the MRT, Jeepney and FX. Haggard and wafakels na akesh sa hitsura ko, like this oh kaloka haha.

Source

I really hate Monday, Jusme! sa byahe palang tagtag na ako sa dami ng tao and traffic.

Source

But when I got home, all my exhaustion was gone and my energy, mag-FULL BAR when I saw Ayvan. It's true! that babies can take their parents, relatives and other people's stress away with just a SMILE and drool, buti nalang!

What happen today, that is for tomorrow. *wink

Ciao!
